As part of the skill development effort, the Manmohan Singh government launched the CAT (Certificate in Accounting Technicians) course in collaboration with the Government of India's Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Under expert training by Rans Academy, CAT prepares students to maintain accounts, prepare tax returns, file returns under the Companies Act, file returns under the Income Tax Act, GST, Customs Act, export and import documents, and so forth. The course is associated with the BFSI Sector Skill Council Qualification Pack BSC/Q8101 - Accounts Executive (BFSISSC). CAT is provided in partnership with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, a statutory organisation formed by an Act of Parliament with over seven decades of experience in the field of Cost and Management Accounting. The examinations are held twice a year (June & December). The training is divided into three stages: Foundation Course (Entry Level): Part I, Competency Level Internship Part II - 15 Days Training. Students who have passed/will be taking the 12th (10+2) test are eligible to enrol in the Foundation (Entry Level) Part-I of the CAT Course. Rans Academy is one of the best CAT institute in Kannur.
